Strengthening Presence in East Malaysia’s Aerospace Landscape
The Business and General Aviation Association of Malaysia, BAGAM, participated in the Asia Pacific Aerospace Conference & Exhibition 2026, APACE 2026, marking an important step in expanding its engagement beyond Peninsular Malaysia into the growing aerospace ecosystem in East Malaysia. Held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, the event brought together a diverse mix of participants, including industry professionals, government agencies, and students, reflecting a comprehensive B2B2C platform designed to foster collaboration across multiple segments of the aviation value chain.
A Platform for Industry Collaboration and Market Expansion
APACE 2026 provided BAGAM with a valuable opportunity to connect with stakeholders in Sarawak and the wider Asia-Pacific region. As the first such engagement for BAGAM in Sarawak, the event served as a strategic platform to introduce the association to new audiences and strengthen its national footprint. Through its participation, BAGAM actively engaged with industry players, potential partners, and emerging talents, promoting its role as a representative body for Malaysia’s business and general aviation community.
Engaging New Markets and Future Members
One of the key outcomes of BAGAM’s presence at APACE 2026 was the opportunity to connect with potential future members from the Sarawak market and beyond. The event facilitated meaningful conversations with stakeholders who are keen to explore opportunities within the aviation sector.
Reflecting on the engagement, the President of BAGAM, Peter Tan shared, “We have received a very encouraging response from the Sarawak market. This platform has enabled us to engage directly with potential future members and industry stakeholders, while increasing BAGAM's visibility across new segments. As this marks our first engagement in Sarawak, it represents an important step in expanding our reach and strengthening connections within Malaysia’s broader aviation ecosystem.” His remarks underscore the importance of expanding BAGAM’s reach and building awareness across different regions and market segments.
Supporting Industry Development Through Engagement
APACE 2026, guided by its theme of innovation, sustainability, and growth, provided a comprehensive platform for dialogue on key industry trends and future developments. The event highlighted the importance of regional collaboration, technological advancement, and sustainable practices in shaping the future of aerospace.
For BAGAM, participation in such platforms is aligned with its mission to support industry growth through engagement, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration. By connecting with a wider network of stakeholders, BAGAM continues to contribute to a more integrated and forward-looking aviation ecosystem in Malaysia. BAGAM’s presence at APACE 2026 reflects its commitment to positioning Malaysia’s business aviation sector within this broader regional context, while also supporting the development of new markets such as Sarawak.
The successful participation at APACE 2026 highlights BAGAM’s ongoing efforts to broaden its engagement across Malaysia and beyond. By establishing connections in new regions and engaging with diverse stakeholders, BAGAM continues to strengthen its role as a national industry voice. As the association grows, such regional engagements will remain essential in supporting its mission to connect industry players, promote best practices, and drive sustainable development within the aviation sector.
