Driving Industry Alignment and Future Growth
The Business and General Aviation Association of Malaysia, BAGAM, participated in the Aerospace Industry Engagement Programme held on 11 March 2026, convening key stakeholders across Malaysia’s aerospace ecosystem. Hosted at Dewan Perdana MITI, the programme served as an important platform to align industry priorities, strengthen collaboration, and explore new avenues for growth.
Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia (NAICO), Moonman Events, Global Exhibitions & Conferences (GEC), Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosical (PERKESO), and Malaysia Aerospace Industry Association (MAIA), the event reflects a coordinated effort to accelerate Malaysia’s aerospace ambitions through stronger public-private engagement.
A Platform for Policy Dialogue and Industry Insights
“We are honoured to receive an invitation from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry to participate in today's Aerospace Industry Engagement Program at Dewan Perdana MITI,” BAGAM’s President, Peter Tan, noted, reflecting the association’s appreciation for being part of this important national-level dialogue.
The programme brought together representatives from government agencies, industry associations, and aviation stakeholders to discuss the evolving landscape of Malaysia’s aerospace sector. Key areas of focus included policy direction, industry development strategies, and access to financing mechanisms that can support sustainable growth. For BAGAM, participation in such engagements is central to its role as a representative voice for business and general aviation. The session provided valuable exposure to ongoing policy priorities and offered an opportunity to contribute industry perspectives to national-level discussions.
Soft Launch of MyAERO Summit 2026
A key highlight of the programme was the official soft launch of the MyAERO Summit 2026, officiated by the Honourable Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) YB Tuan Sim Tze Tzin. The launch marks a significant step forward in positioning Malaysia as a regional platform for aerospace convergence, innovation, and investment. The upcoming summit is expected to bring together global industry players, policymakers, and investors, further strengthening Malaysia’s role within the regional and international aerospace ecosystem.
Strengthening Industry Collaboration
The programme underscored the importance of collaboration between government bodies, industry associations, and private sector stakeholders in shaping a resilient and competitive aerospace industry. BAGAM’s presence reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that promote industry alignment and long-term development. Through active participation, BAGAM continues to advocate for the interests of the business and general aviation community, ensuring that its perspectives are represented in broader industry initiatives.
Supporting a Forward-Looking Aerospace Ecosystem
The Aerospace Industry Engagement Program highlighted the increasing importance of integrated efforts across the aviation value chain. From financing access to policy alignment and talent development, the discussions reinforced the need for a holistic approach to industry growth. For BAGAM members, such platforms provide critical insights into emerging opportunities and strategic direction, enabling them to better position themselves within a rapidly evolving aerospace landscape.
As Malaysia continues to strengthen its position as a regional aerospace hub, initiatives such as the MyAERO Summit 2026 are expected to play a pivotal role in driving industry momentum. BAGAM remains committed to supporting these efforts through continued engagement, collaboration, and advocacy. By working closely with stakeholders across both the public and private sectors, BAGAM will continue to contribute towards building a more dynamic, competitive, and future-ready aviation industry in Malaysia.
